Energise Africa supports a new survey to unlock energy access in Africa through diaspora investment.
At Energise Africa, we understand the power of people to drive real change. That’s why we’re proud to be part of a new consortium-led initiative alongside AFFORD and Crowd Power to better understand the untapped potential of African diaspora communities in financing clean energy access across the continent.
More than 750 million people in Africa still lack reliable electricity access. As traditional funding sources are under increasing pressure, we believe it's time to explore bold, people-powered solutions that tap into the passion, expertise, and financial influence of the African diaspora.
This new collaborative research project is sharing a short 10-minute survey aimed at African diaspora communities to learn more about their motivations, challenges, and ideas about investing in clean energy access for Africa. The insights will help shape new, inclusive crowdfunding models that make it easier for diaspora investors to drive positive impact.
As our CEO Ray Coyle explains, “This study is a vital step in understanding how diaspora capital can be channelled more effectively to support Africa’s clean energy transition. We want to hear directly from the diaspora—what inspires them to invest, what barriers they face, and how Energise Africa and others can better support their goals.”
If you are a member of the African diaspora and are curious about how your capital can help drive sustainable change or have already invested in African energy access projects, we’d love to hear from you.
You can access the survey here.
We look forward to sharing more information and findings from the research soon.
